Limited Fee Agreements

Limited Fee Agreements and Limited Scope Representation.

On January 1, 2018 the Michigan Supreme Court modified the rules of Professional Conduct to allow for attorneys to provide focused and defined representation on a limited scope basis without the requirement of traditional full representation.

The cost of legal representation can be significant causing too many individuals to face legal challenges on their own. The new rules allow attorneys to now perform specific legal tasks, such as preparing pleadings, conducting discovery or negotiating a possible settlement without being required to represent a client at every step of the legal process. This allows attorneys to charge specific fees that limit a client’s legal costs but better prepares the client to handle legal challenges.

In addition to limited representation fee agreements, Bruza Law often handles matters such as driver license restoration, traffic violations, residential real estate transactions, probation violations, reviews of business contracts and procedures on a flat fee basis. Flat fees are a one time charge that covers the necessary legal representation for a particular matter from start to finish.

Bruza Law has developed a number of specific limited scope representation plans to limit costs and maximize results. These representational plans range from advice and preparation of an overall legal strategy to a la carte intervention regarding discovery, dispositive motions, settlement or even trial.
